My personal opinion, you won’t find a better building crew than the Amish craftsmen. You can try, but nah, not possible. “ My wife and I initially reached out to the Oak Standard based on a referral from a friend. We had a very large project - to remodel a lake home built in the 1970's. It was a wood foundation house that had received many changes over the years but now we wanted a fresh start - a do-over to make it our forever home. We met with Joseph to describe our vision. He also has some great ideas to share - things we agreed would make the home beautiful. Things like a stamped concrete patio, beams high in the family room, and interior doors & trim. We also met his wife, Maria, who was an interior designer. She really helped with defining the interior feel as well as with the selection of cabinets, shelves, flooring, fixtures, and paint. They were both so helpful. When we ran into challenges, usually due to the age of the home and building code back then, Joseph and his team presented options to help us determine the best solutions to meet those challenges. “ I am a construction teacher. I care very much about the quality of a build. We had The Oak Standard come to our home to build our deck as well as finish the drywall in our basement after a flood. They were incredible even to my picky standards. They evaluated our situation, came up with fantastic ideas, asked our opinion, great communication, so incredibly happy with the pre build communication. The crew that came in and built our deck were quality craftsmen, hard workers, extremely polite, and did a great job keeping the worksite very clean. I would use The Oak Standard every time for any outdoor construction. The Oak Standard came back and finished the drywall in the basement. Again, they asked questions to make sure we were on the same page before anything happened. This crew was also incredible for all the same reasons listed above. “ The Oak Standard did a terrific job with all aspects of my roof damage insurance claim. They performed the initial repair work. But then they also stuck with me through my fight with the insurance company until we successfully got a complete roof replacement approved. The new roof looks great and the roofing crew were all easy to work with. Next came gutter replacement, and the guttering crew was terrific, we got new, larger custom gutters and downspouts and they look fantastic! In the course of roofing and guttering, whatever they discovered wood rot, those damaged sections were also replaced. The Oak Standard carpentry team had also done some previous external wood repairs and we have been very pleased with that workset ever since. This is a trustworthy organization, I highly recommend them, and I certainly will use them again.’
